NY is not only one of the worst states when it come to squeezing the life blood out of it’s victims, but it is quite proud of the fact that the stole over $50 million dollars from unemployed fathers, leaving them completely bankrupt and unable pay rent or buy food, all in the name of The Children. Apparently the state can just ignore your civil rights just by hiding behind The Children. And then they punish the father’s further by criminalizing their poverty. From http://www.state.ny.us/governor/press/04/feb4_04.htm The New York State Department of Labor's Child Support Intercept Program matches the names of child support obligors with the names of individuals who are receiving unemployment insurance benefits. Where there is a match the child support is withheld from the obligor's unemployment insurance benefit and then transmitted to the child support program for distribution to the families. The program intercepted $50.8 million in 2003, and has captured more than $274 million since 1995. State Labor Commissioner Linda Angello said, Governor Pataki has implemented a wide variety of innovative enforcement measures designed to make certain our children are not made to suffer. The Labor Departments Child Support Intercept program continues to be an effective measure to ensure child support payments are met and children have the resources they need. To add insult to injury, this same money that these unemployed father’s worked for and deserve is then handed out to welfare recipients... Of the $1.384 billion collected in 2003, more than $505 million went to 226,949 former welfare families - helping them remain self-sufficient. I guess the moral is this twisted story is: Don’t Work. Get on Welfare And for his heartless tyranny against the unemployed, Gov. Pataki has won the three Golden Heart Awards and check out their diamond ring . Indeed, his heart may well be greedy and of cold metal, but I do not this that is what the award was honoring.

It's time to reclaim our states and our rights as Americans that are being trampled and ignored by a select portion of our state government, who's sole interest is in their own profit, at our expense. |
